Health Inequalities
Are you are passionate about reducing health inequalities for a local population? This GP+ training programme is focused on supporting a local population, providing access to GP services alongside training opportunities.
You will be based in a Practice in an identified area of high deprivation. You will be supported to undertake a research project of your choosing, pertaining to issues of health inequalities. You will be required to prepare an abstract and poster based on your findings to be presented at the Royal College of General Practitioners (RCGP) Conference.

Towards the end of your training programme the GP+ team will meet with you and the practice management team to agree next steps and discuss what support is required once you step off the programme.
Although stepping off the programme could look different for each GP, your salaried GP role is guaranteed and your salary will be reviewed. It is envisioned that for the health inequalities role you will continue to work within the Practice with dedicated and protected time to continue developing links with social care and supporting the most vulnerable patients.
